We are extremely happy to announce that NOMINT has signed award-winning motion design director Tony Zagoraios for commercial representation in the UK and the US. Tony, mostly known for his motion design work like Toylife and Digitized, has been regularly featured in top publications and festivals around the world (Vimeo staff picks, SHOTS,IDN magazine, STASH magazine, ONEDOTZERO, PAUSE FEST)

Tony is one of the most talented directors we’ve come across and worked with. His approach, his visual mastery and creative versatility make a very powerful combination that is always evident in his work. Tony’s projects keep surprising us as his work never stays the same yet there is a very distinctive and unique resonating voice in everything he does. Tony is definitely a name we will be hearing more and more in the years to come and an excellent addition to the NOMINT roster. We feel very strongly that great work will be coming out of our collaboration.

Enjoy his projects here: http://nomint.com/directors/tony/

NOMINT creates new Chrome Super Sync Sports launch videos with Google Creative Lab.

NOMINT, Across the Pond and Google Creative Lab have created a series of launch videos for Chrome Super Sync Sports, Google’s awesome new online racing game. NOMINT directed and animated the 60 sec launch video and five 30 sec shorts promoting the project. Production of the videos lasted throughout the month of February and was based on Rami Niemi’s fantastic illustrations for the online game.

The videos tell the story of vintage moustached track superstar Mo and his gang of quirky characters who race against each other, constantly egged on by their coach.

Christos Lefakis Creative Director of NOMINT says: ‘We had a fantastic time working on this fun brief. We worked really closely with the brilliant minds of Google Creative Lab to create a launch video for the amazing Super Sync Sports project. This is our second collaboration with the wonderful people of ATP following last year’s Google Art Project. We are very pleased that we keep making such interesting and creatively diverse work together.’

Steve Vranakis Executive Creative Director of the Google Creative Lab says: ‘Nomint created a spectacular animated world that captured the fun and excitement of Super Sync sports brilliantly.’

Google’s latest Chrome experiment turns smartphones and tablets into gaming controllers. Up to 4 friends (or archrivals) can sync and face off in a fierce running-swimming-cycling competition. Apart from the sheer joy of racing a dust ball against a medium rare T-bone steak or a breathmint against an anchor tattoo, the game is an excellent finger training routine.’

Check out the videos here and ‘Get Ready to Sync’ at http://chrome.com/supersyncsports !

It’s that time of the year again! Just a couple of weeks before Christmas, the legendary See No Evil is presenting its Xmas special event and NOMINT was invited to participate as a keynote speaker!

“We will wear our Christmas hats and talk about Unexpected Success, Epic Failure and KRAMPUS: The Evil Alter Ego of Santa.” Like Yannis Konstantinidis would say “ Have you been a bad kid? Krampus will lick you, Krampus will spank you and then Krampus will put you in his basket and eat you for dinner…”

So, avoid Krampus and come to See No Evil, NOMINT will share the stage with the wonderful ANIMADE and it will be great fun!

See No Evil is an initiative from Thiago Maia and James Wignall, which is a bi-monthly event for all animators, designers and directors to show and discuss their work. “See No Evil has hosted creative heavyweights including Studio AKA, David Wilson, Fx & Mat, Wyld Stallyons, Mainframe, Man Vs Machine, Mcbess, Ubik and Simon Robson. The work on show ranges from motion graphics to VFX, animation, film, installations and all the bits in-between” (read more here).

Free entry, prizes & good times! Book your date: Tuesday, December the 4th. Doors Open at 7.00pm and talk starts at 7.30pm at Cafe 1001, 91 Brick Lane London E1 6QL (new venue)

NOMINT has created the 5th TV spot for the campaign of National Bank of Greece. The concept was initially conceived by the creative minds of Leo Burnett Athens and was continued by the great team of BBDO Athens. The campaign was introduced in 2011 and NOMINT has designed, directed and produced all commercials for the newly launched National Bank of Greece debit card.

National Bank of Greece decided to promote their new product in a fresh and exciting way that would appeal to even more customers and would promote a fresher, more contemporary company profile. NOMINT was selected for their original approach and their ability to produce something unique for the campaign.

The 3d animated TV spots are inspired by everyday life situations where running out of cash may feel like a dead end. Charming character performance and humour were the main ingredients of the new spot “Rain”. After “Shoestore”, “Supermarket”, “Home” and “Gas Station”, raining money is definitely not an everyday occurrence, but it certainly goes to show how lucky one can get in a day like any other! Each spot is 30 sec to 1 minute long.

Check out some of the spots here.

NOMINT creates 5 TVC’s for Cadbury’s MORO hilarious campaign.

A few months ago we had the absolute pleasure to collaborate with Passion RAW’s director UNKNOWN and Strange Beast, for the creation of Cadbury’s MORO campaign. We designed and animated the fantasy world and creatures of Cadbury MORO’s awesome hero “Mr Awesome”, who inhabits a lo-fi cult, retro-futuristic universe.

Mr Awesome is a “ridiculously charismatic hero” who fights his archenemies Lazy Eyed-Lazer Bear, Giant Eagle and Pegasus (not a Unicorn) with “awesome” karate and mind control. Oh, and lets not forget how he obliterated Dolphin the most awesomely intelligent of all animals.

October 2012: We were thrilled and honoured to accept a personal invitation from the president of the the Anim’est International Animation Film Festival, Laurentiu Bratan, telling us that “The Holy Chicken of Life and Music” is one of his favorite films ever! So, we travelled to Bucharest where the amazing people of the Anim’est Festival warmly welcomed us to a truly impressive festival. We presented our Short Film “The Holy Chicken of Life and Music” and enjoyed the great screenings and lectures from Laika and Pixar.

The Anim’est International Animation Film Festival was established in 2006. In these years, the festival has become Bucharest’s most loved film festival and a recognized event on the international animation scene. (photo credits below: Adi Marineci)

October 2012: “MAHAHULA: The Giant Rodent of Happiness” was selected to be screened at “2-in-1” International Film Festival.

Our short film was one out of nine handpicked out of Slamdance by 2-in-1 to be screened in the Subjective View program in Moscow between the 19th and the 22nd of October.

“2-in-1” is a Moscow-based festival of contemporary film, an acknowledged forum for new inspired cinema and unorthodox filmmakers. As they claim… “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a bad movie to be selected for “2-in-1” film festival.”… Ha! We made it!

November 2012: We always love it the most when we spread the love for science… This kind of news is what really makes us tick!

“The Holy Chicken of Life and Music” was selected to be featured among the largest selection of science films to date, on the 5th Annual Imagine Science Film Festival in New York (November 8 – 16, 2012).

The Imagine Science Film Festival is the first science film festival in the world founded by scientists. It aims to transform the way science and scientists are portrayed in mainstream media, while emphasizing the importance of storytelling, narrative structure, and visual communication. The festival is supported by the 2012 Imagine Science Film Committee and our leading sponsors Science/AAAS, Nature and Vimeo.

NOMINT designed, directed and produced a new character animation video for a great new application called Feelzr! The lovely Feelzr people gave us the creative freedom on the launch video for their quirky new app. The open brief lead us to create an exciting world of characters in 3d.

You can watch the video here.

Feelzr is all about connecting with people around the world who are born on the same day as you. You rate how you feel, other feelzrs do the same throughout the day and because of the time difference you can predict what is coming!

Check it out here: www.feelzr.com We had great fun working on the production. Thank you guys!
